SPC Kyle L. Abram

Kyle was born on October 16th. 1990 at 3:10 pm. He has one older brother Chad. At four weeks old he caught a virus that landed him at Childrens Hospital in Columbus for a week, a scary time for his family. Upon returning home he thrived, no more medical issues.

Kyle loved participating in sports. He started playing soccer at 5 years old, baseball, basketball and football at 6 years old. Also, did youth wrestling for a few years. He continued football through the 8th grade and baseball and basketball through high school playing for the Logan Chieftains. He played Ohio Youth Basketball along with Gus Macker Tournaments, winning 1st place on several occasions. He loved both of these sports.

He attended Logan Schools, graduating from Logan High School in '2009. He then attended Ohio University. While attending O.U. he worked parttime with his Uncle Donnie at Buckingham Coal Mine. This was his first job where he developed his good work ethics. He drove the big trucks and did landscaping. He developed a wonderful relationship with his uncle.

After three years at Ohio University, he came home one day and told us he was thinking about enlisting in the Army National Guard. We told him we would always support his choices. He enlisted in January '2014. He did his basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia and artillery training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. In May '2019, his guard unit was deployed to Hungary for four weeks. While there he received a special award for excellence from the Hungarian government.

While in the National Guard he attended Franklin University and worked for Chase (JP Morgan) Bank in Columbus. While working at the bank he was promoted to the position of Personal Banker.

Kyle had a great sense of humor and according to family a "shit eating" grin which would light of the room. He was ornery and could always make you laugh. Kyle gave his whole heart to everything he did. He was hard working, with a great work ethic. Dedicated to whatever he did. He was caring, always doing things for others. But he could be moody. He would get upset if he felt others didn't appreciate what he did for them. His feelings were hurt easily. He was very respectful to his family and others. One other tidbit about Kyle was he loved Bow Ties. Every dance or wedding he attended he wore one.

He was a caring, loving person. He enjoyed going to visit his grandpa and grandma Kahn in Sarasota,

Florida. After his grandpa passed away. His grandma moved back to Ohio. He went with me(mom) on several occasions to visit his grandmother Kahn who was in a assisted living/memory care in Toledo. He was great with her, helping her as needed.

His grandmother Abram passed away when he was three. Although he was too young to really know her, he was very special to her. He also developed a very close relationship with his paternal grandfather Abram and had the utmost respect for him as he was a World War II veteran.

In March 2019, he went to Cleveland to attend a memorial and dedication for his maternal grandparents.

On June 30th, 2019, there was knock at the door. When I answered it there was a Hocking County Sheriff Deputy, he advised us that Kyle had passed away. The saddest day of our lives.

Kyle was a big Cleveland Cavalier and Indians fan. After his passing The Cleveland Indians did a memorial to him on their scoreboard at a game.

He was a special person and everybody that was close to him loved him and still do. We are all proud of everything he accomplished in his life.
