LCpl Dillon Franciscus
USMC LCpl Dillon Franciscus 24, of Avon, passed away in his home on March 23, 2025. Dillon was born on April 19, 2000, to his parents, Lee and Angie (nee Benning) Franciscus. The world was a better place when Dillon was in it, he was one of the best.
Dillon attended Holy Trinity School in Avon, and then went on to St. Ed's, class of 2019. While at St. Ed's, Dillon was a member of the championship football team. After graduation Dillon joined the United States Marine Corps. He served his country proudly both stateside and in Afghanistan. Upon his honorable discharge from the Marines Dillon worked as a Private Investigator and a part time roofer alongside his father. He also worked with the St. Ed's football program as a part time linebacker coach.
Dillon was a natural protector, and Shepherd, he made sure that everyone felt safe. He was a Changemaker and let people know that they mattered and would not tolerate anything less from those around him.
If you were around Dillon, then you were probably talking about football. Dillon loved football, especially St. Ed's, The Ohio State University, the Browns, the NFL, and Tom Brady. He knew football stats, trivia, and facts. He was also a Karaoke Legend. If there was a microphone around Dillon would sing his favorite Karaoke song by Bon Jovi. Dillon enjoyed weightlifting, riding his bike, and spending time with his family and friends. Dillon had a lot of friends. He was especially fond of the camaraderie that he got from his football team and fellow Marines. Dillon was affectionately known in his Marine Corps as "Frank the Tank", Dillon deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan where he saved 100's of lives during Operation Allies Refuge.
